WWE Removes Several Bret Hart Specials From The Network
RIP to some of your favourite 'Hitman' content.
WWE has made the move to pull several Bret Hart specials from the Network.
The company did this stealthily and hasn't commented on the matter publically, making it to tough to tell why, exactly, they made these moves. A report from PWInsider suggests that it may be down to the documentaries featuring footage from Stampede Wrestling, however. WWE owns the Calgary territory's tape library, though Bret himself retains the rights to his own matches, having previously bought them from his parents.
A similar thing happened in 2015, when WWE had to pull a number of episodes of Stampede Wrestling TV from the Network shortly after uploading them - for the very same reason. WWE and Bret have never been able to come to an agreement on using 'The Hitman's' old matches on the Network, so the promotion has only uploaded content that doesn't feature him since then.
These are the Hart-centric specials that have been deleted this week:-
- The Most Power Families In Wrestling (2019)
- Bret Hart: The Dungeon Collection (2013)
- Greatest Rivalries: Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels (2011)
- WWE's Top 50 Superstars (2010)
- Hart & Soul: The Hart Family Anthology (2010)
- Bret Hart: The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be (2005)
