According to a new report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE officials have been in secret negotiations with Ring of Honor owners Sinclair Broadcast Group regarding a potential buyout of ROH.

PW Sheet state that numerous sources "with direct knowledge" informed them that talks have been progressing slowly since negotiations started back in January. A complete takeover is reportedly on the cards if a deal can be struck between the two parties, and the buyout would see ROH's weekly television show air on the WWE Network.

There's no word on whether or not all wrestler contracts would be retained as part of a deal, or what the ROH roster may look like afterwards. The report concludes by stating that there is no actual deal on the table at the moment: these are just discussions, and as with WWE's attempted purchase of TNA's tape library last year, it can still fall through.

WWE had previously used ROH's name as part of a Network survey advertising "independent wrestling content" last year. Any deal would represent a major acquisition, particularly in terms of talent, but there are clearly a few hurdles to be jumped before that happens.
