WWE management reportedly "declined" several noteworthy pitches for a total change in production style at Saturday's Day 1 pay-per-view.

The WrestleVotes Twitter account claims that "multiple presentation ideas were discussed regarding the look and feel" of 2022's first major show. According to the tweet, WWE staff lobbied to see "different rope colours, mat colours, camera angles etc".

Vince McMahon apparently didn't entertain those suggestions for very long.

This is a blow to anyone who had heard the rumours of Day 1 changes and hoped McMahon might be willing to properly freshen up the look of his product. WWE's samey broadcasts have been a source of frustration amongst fans who believe the entire production needs a shake up.

Some WWE staff agree with that, but their pitches have fallen on deaf ears.

It's particularly interesting to learn that a few wanted WWE to try out some new camera angles. The traditional, fixed "hard cam" look has been a firm fixture forever, but modern technology (drones, for example) means the promotion don't need to be married to it anymore.

Day 1 will have a familiar set, ring and production style then.
