Yes, before SummerSlam has even happened...

2020's weirdness continued when WWE announced that this year's Payback pay-per-view will take place just one week after SummerSlam on 30 August.

On the latest SmackDown, the company started to flesh out the card for that show during an in-ring segment with Sasha Banks and Bayley.

The reigning Raw, SmackDown and Women's Tag-Team Champs revealed that they'd be defending the latter at Payback. Their opponents are yet to be announced, so it could be anybody.

Bayley and Sasha Banks are currently feuding with Asuka. She'll challenge for both the Raw and SmackDown Titles in individual singles matches at SummerSlam on 23 August, and there's a slight chance she'll find a new partner (now that Kairi Sane is gone) before Payback.

If not, then WWE could also slot some fresh faces into the mix. Maybe they'll give a team from NXT the chance, or it could be another go-around for Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss - that duo aren't on the same page right now though, and Bliss has been caught up in the Universal Title feud.
