WWE Royal Rumble: 10 Most Surprising Entrants Of All Time

1. John Cena (2008)

John Cena Current WWE Champion CM Punk has celebrated over 430 days as champion but the last man to come anywhere near this number in the modern era was John Cena, who held the strap for 380 days from 2006 to 2007. His lengthy reign, however, was ended due to a torn pectoral muscle. Cena was due to be out of action for up to twelve months and the championship was vacated. Less than four months after his surgery, Cena returned to the huge surprise of the WWE audience as the 30th entrant in the Rumble match. Cena eliminated Carlito, Mark Henry, Chavo Guerrero and finally Triple H to become the winner of the Rumble match. Cena challenged Randy Orton at both No Way Out and WrestleMania XXIV for the championship that he€™d previously vacated but fell short each time. Cena has won the WWE Championship seven times since his return in 2008, bringing his total reigns to 10. This year's Royal Rumble will not only shine more light on what we can expect for WrestleMania XXIX but it should also provide a number of surprises. Rumours are rampant about potential returns for the likes of Shelton Benjamin and MVP. Which legends might show up for cameos in the match too? With Superstars such as Christian, Mark Henry and Brock Lesnar out of action, maybe the Royal Rumble will be their ideal opportunity to make a return. http://youtu.be/juy5Kg1Fpd4 Did we miss any surprising Royal Rumble entrants?
