WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Fallout: 10 Questions You Want Answered

1. Was Turning Ryback Heel A Mistake?

From @KyleDixon95: Do you think turning Ryback heel was the wrong decision last year?
I think it was a mistake, but it was also a need thing. After Cena won the WWE Title at WrestleMania 29 they needed opponents for him. They turned Ryback heel because they knew that he wasn't going to become a top babyface due to his limitations (poor talker, not great in ring), so a heel turn made sense. Some of Ryback's heel things are entertaining in the sense that he has shown a sense of humor at times and is showing a bit more personality in this role. As a babyface he was too much of an in your face type of performer that didn't really express much personality. Ryback's a midcarder that likely won't ever become a true main eventer. It's hard for a guy that's been in the business for ten years to suddenly become great. Maybe it will happen for him, but I doubt it. Wrong decision? No. It was out of necessity and ultimately I don't think he was going to get that far as a babyface anyway. That's it for this week's Q&A. We'll do another one next week around this time.
