WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Big Mistakes They Can't Afford To Make
9. Rich Swann Plays Kingslayer
Neville has been on fire since entering the Cruiserweight division. The Geordie high-flier had never found his groove on the main roster, and his milquetoast babyface act saw him gain little traction up the card. As a bitter, entitled heel, however, Neville has been reborn: his charisma has exploded, his grievances are believable, and he has lit a fire under the ailing 205 Live product.
He’ll challenge for Rich Swann’s Cruiserweight Championship on Sunday night, and it’s time for a title change. Sure, the Cruiserweight Title has been hot-shotted around a lot since TJ Perkins won the Cruiserweight Classic, but Neville is 205’s hottest commodity at the moment, and he’s bringing a boatload of momentum to San Antonio. All his build will have been for nought if he loses to Swann, and if there’s any justice, the King of the Cruiserweights shall leave with a crown.
Swann is 205 Live’s most prominent babyface, but the show needs Neville on top at the moment. He’s comfortably the most engaging presence in a division struggling for compelling stars and personalities, and the Cruiserweights need a solid, reliable cornerstone to build around. Neville is exactly that, and aside from the man himself, nobody will benefit from Rich Swann playing Jaime Lannister in San Antonio.
