WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Shocks That Could Happen
7. Kevin Owens Beats Roman Reigns
Kevin Owens will be defending his WWE Universal Title against Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble, and in order to prevent his interference, Chris Jericho will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage.
Despite the fact that Reigns is already the United States Champion and his title won't be on the line, many fans are already treating it as a foregone conclusion that he'll be "The Guy" once again come the Royal Rumble. To be sure, there's lots to indicate that Reigns will get the win - he's the ultimate management favorite who will be in a big 'Mania match in all likelihood, plus the planned Owens-Jericho bout for the show of shows doesn't need the title.
That said, is there anyone who'll be disappointed if Owens retains the title and Reigns is in the midcard at WrestleMania? It's been rumored that Roman Reigns is going to take on Braun Strowman at the show, so there's really no reason that the Universal Title needs to be on the line - just let that match be fought for the U.S. Title, let Owens head into 'Mania as champ, and everyone's happy.
