WWE Royal Rumble 2017: Rating Each Entrant's Chances Of Winning

17. Sheamus

Royal Rumble
WWE

The Royal Rumble is all about surprises, but Sheamus' win in 2012 was a surprise that nobody wanted. He infamously defeated Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds to become World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania a few months later, but few wanted to see him on top, and his seven-month reign was insufferable at times.

Sheamus has since regained some of his goodwill by teaming with Cesaro. The duo's Best of Seven series produced some excellent in ring action, and their "odd couple" tag team act has given both men genuine purpose on Raw. He's not going to be breaking into the main event again soon, but he's faring considerably better than he was six months ago.

Sheamus and Cesaro will pull double duty by defending their Raw Tag Team Championships on the Kickoff Show, then featuring in the Rumble itself. Sheamus is the least likely to win of the two.

Chances: Very slim.
