WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 10 Suprise Entrants We Could See

1. Daniel Bryan

It seems that not a day goes by without fresh rumours of Daniel Bryan's return to a WWE ring. Since his tragic retirement, the current SmackDown General Manager has repeatedly insisted that he has been cleared by numerous doctors to wrestle again. Thus far, however, WWE have been unwilling to clear him.

Bryan has said that if he doesn't wrestle with WWE by WrestleMania, he will probably never wrestle with the company again. Vince McMahon would be a fool to let Bryan, one of the most organically popular superstars since Stone Cold Steve Austin, walk away, especially with Cody Rhodes seemingly eager to book him for Bullet Club's All In show in September.

The American Dragon's current issues with Shane McMahon, and potential alliance with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, screams that a return to the ring is imminent. There are rumours that this storyline has been booked purely to sour Bryan in the eyes of the WWE Universe before his contract expires, but there's no way the fans will turn on such a beloved figure, and despite his obvious disconnect with his fanbase, surely Vince McMahon isn't stupid enough to believe that such a tactic would work?

It might be wishful thinking, but Daniel Bryan entering the Royal Rumble would generate one of the biggest pops of all time, and if it led to a WrestleMania program with Shane McMahon or (dare we dream) AJ Styles, it would be all the sweeter. Yep!
