WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predicting The Quality Of All 6 Matches
5. Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan Vs. The Bar - RAW Tag Team Title Match
It's perhaps natural to focus the forecast squarely on Jason Jordan, given that the other three men might as well, at this point, have wrestled one another since the days of Jim Londos. Seth Rollins has wrestled The Bar more than André The Giant drank at it. Hopefully, WWE realises this also, and builds the narrative around the wild card.
There is clear storyline scope for Jordan to accentuate his emerging egotist character with some foolhardy spots, too. The prospect of Cesaro meeting Jordan's selfish goober over-enthusiasm with punishing full-force uppercuts is exactly the sort of reckoning such a character is crying out for - in turn allowing Rollins' to dust off his own underrated comedic chops by reacting to the punishment with a deadpan facepalm, or simply standing there and leaving Sheamus free to cave his chest in.
There's little chance of this match scaling the early emotional highs of the Bar's summer series with Rollins and Ambrose - or equalling in quality the Blue Brand's doubles offering - so a split angle masquerading as a match is surely preferable to a palatable TV bout transposed to the Big 4 arena.
Anticipated Star Rating: ***1/2
