Last year's AJ Styles programme taught us everything we need to know about WWE's view on Samoa Joe. Whether right or wrong, they don't see him as World Title material. He's an effective upper-midcard tool to be slotted into main event storylines on occasion, and while he'll always be allowed to showcase his company-best microphone skills, he won't be capturing the big prize while he's here.

It's a perfect role for him, even if it means he won't be winning the Royal Rumble. Don't be surprised if he puts in a good showing, though. WWE do like him.
