WWE Royal Rumble 2021: 10 Nightmares That Could Happen
8. Santina Marella Shows Up (Again)
Cue audible groans.
Last year, Santino Marella dressed up as his "sister" Santina and invaded the women's Royal Rumble match to work a few comedy spots. It was largely harmless, but did steal a coveted spot from one of the hard-working women on WWE's full-time roster. It might happen again.
WWE typically love squeezing as much out of these "ha-ha" moments as they can. It's why they book surprise entrants in the first place - such shockers are "let me up" portions of a lengthy bout, and only designed to temporarily break the tension before everyone gets back to more serious matters.
The problem with Santina is that it's just not funny. Marella's drag act has no place in the 2021 match even if it was, if only 'cause WWE has done this one to death. Give the Rumble berth to an iconic female name from the past, or debut someone fresh, instead.
Superstar Spectacle stand out Sareena Sandhu would benefit, for example.
