Though he kept a low profile following his first few months of freedom after being released by WWE in June 2021, Adam Scherr is finally making moves outwith the world's biggest promotion.

Having previously appeared as part of Free The Narrative, 'The Titan' showed up alongside EC3 at ROH Final Battle in December. The duo are now being billed for what has been dubbed "the biggest wrestling event in the Middle East" and this March, Scherr's new mental health app, Diskuss, just hit the market.

Bottom line? He's doing things again.

But he's doing them unsigned - and that's why a Rumble appearance isn't completely bananas.

The cynic's view of Scherr's WWE release was that the company wanted to relieve itself of his reported seven-figure salary, perhaps with a view to bringing him back on a less lucrative deal later down the road. This is purely speculative, of course, but believable from a company increasingly driven on pushing profit margins as far as it possibly can. On top of this, a lower WWE offer is likely to still be grander than any on the table elsewhere in wrestling.

So assuming that Scherr holds no ill will towards WWE, it isn't hard to see why he might say "yes."
