WWE Act May Need To Change Finishers After Recent Injury To World Champion (WWE News)

Following the recent orbital bone injury to WWE's Chelsea Green, it could well be that Fatal Influence are set for a change in their offense.

For those who missed it, last week's SmackDown saw Interim WWE Women's Champion Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton lose to Fatal Influence's Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, with Chelsea being the one to take the losing fall after being hit by the Fatal Flaw. Unfortunately, Green took to social media shortly after that match to confirm that she'd broken her orbital bone, with that seemingly the result of Lainey Reid landing on Chelsea's head when delivering the Fatal Flaw.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez is under the belief that Fatal Influence may need to change their finishing move after this incident. On top of that, Alvarez said that people within the wrestling industry have said that the Fatal Flaw is "not a good finish anyway".

As for Chelsea Green, it remains to be seen where things go from here for her. With WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley recovering from a meniscus tear, Chelsea won a five-woman ladder match at SummerSlam earlier this month to become the Interim WWE Women's Champion. While some had speculated that Green might be bumped up to become the proper Women's Champion and drop the interim element in Rhea's absence, there are now questions about what's next for Chelsea after this orbital bone injury.

Rhea Ripley suffered her own broken orbital bone injury back in October 2024, though was able to return to action the following month, complete with a face protector. And given how WWE Women's World Champion Liv Morgan went over 100 days before defending that title at SummerSlam this year, hopefully WWE doesn't opt to strip Chelsea Green of her Interim WWE Women's Championship.
