WWE Royal Rumble 2022: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

1. WWE Universal Title: Roman Reigns (c) Vs. Seth Rollins

Result: Seth wins via DQ after Roman refuses to relinquish the Guillotine while Rollins holds the rope (14:25).

Rating: This was a rock solid opening bout that teased some legitimately persuasive fake-outs with Rollins very nearly scoring the win - especially when he countered the Spear into a Pedigree.

There was great storytelling throughout - namely Seth teasing Roman with the Shield fist bump - even if the ending was nothing short of a clumsy fumble.

Between Charles Robinson accidentally dumping Rollins' arm over the rope and the non-committal DQ finish, it was a lousy, lazy ending to a solid match.

Clearly WWE didn't want to commit to a decisive, concrete victory for either man and risk "harming" the other, so we got this anti-climactic nonsense instead. It's a shame, as this was pretty damn good up to that point. 6/10
