WWE Royal Rumble 2023: Predicting All 15 Wrestlers Not Yet Announced

13. Edge

The mooted Hell In A Cell match with Finn Bálor isn't happening, unless WWE books it on SmackDown, which seems unlikely.

Given where each character is in the story, it makes sense from that perspective - Edge should be out for Bálor's head following the events of Extreme Rules last year - but that isn't how promotion works. The fans have to want the match as much as the characters do.

WrestleMania is the obvious destination for the climactic encounter, and WWE could build it via the old eliminated wrestler re-enters the ring to chuck out their rival trope.

Now, there's such a thing as over-promotion, and months of Edge's intensity would grow boring - but they can always write him off with an injury, for, like, the fifth time since 2020.

Poor Edge gets it more in the neck than a co-opted WWE journo on Twitter.
