WWE Royal Rumble 2024: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True
9. WWE Gives Away #1 & #30!
This is always a worry, and it's become something WWE enjoys doing when they really, really shouldn't. Part of the thrill involved with watching any Rumble match is wondering who might be lucky enough to bag the #30 spot. Will it be Jade Cargill in this year's women's match? How about Steve Austin on the men's side?
Antici....pation is important, basically.
WWE could spoil all of that merriment by announcing who's #1 and #30 in both Rumbles ahead of time. Absolutely screw that, man. Nobody watching needs to hear Michael Cole say: 'Well, we already know that Nia Jax is #30". That ruins the whole moment, and the element of surprise shouldn't be overlooked.
No pre-show matches to determine who's out first and last either. That's a concept which should've died a quick death following 1996's battle between Triple H and Duke Droese. The fact the WWF thought selling Duke as #30 in the Rumble at all was a good idea should've earned someone a cuff across the ear.
Sorry, got sidetracked down memory lane.
