WWE's 10 Announced Raw Cruiserweights Ranked
7. Tommaso Ciampa
Ciampa isn't your typical Cruiserweight. He doesn't rely on high-flying offense, though he can dish out some impressive aerial moves when the situation calls for it. His strength relies in his strong submission attacks and brutal strikes.
He was a popular member of the Ring of Honor roster from 2011 to 2015 and became a World Television Champion, but he was never quite presented as one of their top stars. After showing up for a few matches in TNA, he signed with NXT, and has mostly spent his time there in tag matches with Johnny Gargano.
What may help Ciampa on the main roster is his look, as you can imagine Vince McMahon wanting to push him as the bully of the division. Otherwise, he would also be valuable to the company if he was inserted into the tag scene along with Gargano.
While it was his partner who eliminated him from the CWC tournament in the first round, he impressed management enough to receive a promotion to the main roster, which will likely be a good move on their part.
