WWE Seemingly Undecided On John Cena's Fastlane 2023 Partner

SmackDown's creative team has two choices for John Cena come WWE Fastlane!

John Cena will wrestle in a bumper tag-team match on WWE's upcoming Fastlane 2023 PLE, but fans won't know his partner until next week at the earliest.

This week's episode of SmackDown saw Cena and old rival AJ Styles come together as a united force. They seemed to be heading for a tag showdown vs. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa on the 7 October pay-per-view, but AJ was later beaten down by The Bloodline crew and taken to hospital.

Now, reports are flooding in that LA Knight was originally supposed to be installed as Cena's partner before being pulled from the show due to COVID.

This leaves WWE with a decision to make. It appears Styles is being kept on ice as a possible backup for Knight if he's somehow unable to make Fastlane. That's sheer guesswork, of course, but it seems logical to assume the writers will keep their options open at this point in time.

Teaming with someone the standing of John Cena would be another big step for LA, so fingers crossed it happens. If not, then AJ is a fine substitute for Fastlane.
