JBL is the kind of heel announcer that's so often ridiculed for some of the strange comments he makes. That comes with the territory, but it's also important to give the big cowboy credit when he does make a good point. On SmackDown, JBL was the only one to draw attention to Randy Orton's history in the Air Canada Centre.

As Randy marched out for his 'Grudge Match' against Jinder Mahal in the main event, JBL told how Orton had won his first World Heavyweight Title in that very building back at SummerSlam 2004. Of course, Layfield didn't acknowledge that Randy had beaten Chris Benoit 13 years ago, but that was to be expected.

It was a cool nod to the past for JBL to talk about how much Toronto, Canada will always mean to Randy Orton's career. Maybe if Randy himself had discussed this during his backstage promo with Renee Young, he wouldn't have been booed so heavily by the Toronto faithful.
