WWE Smackdown Spoilers 7/8/12 - Sheamus Fights Del Rio & Cops!

Last night's WWE SmackDown spoilers from last night's tapings in Houston, Texas. The show will air on Friday on SyFy (US) and Sky Sports (UK). Dark Match Wade Barrett returned to defeat Zack Ryder SmackDown results; General Manager Booker T opens the show with a huge big hometown pop. He talks about the incident on Monday's RAW when Sheamus took Alberto Del Rio's Ferrari for a ride. Booker thinks Sheamus should come out and apologise, which he does. Then Del Rio comes out and threatens he will get the police involved for Sheamus taking the car. Del Rio is upset with Booker T for not punishing Sheamus... the result is Booker granting Del Rio a World Heavyweight Title shot for tonight's main event. 1) Sin Cara defeated Cody Rhodes in a fairly short match. Rhodes kept trying unsuccessfully to remove Cara's mask. 2) Christian defeated Antonio Cesaro with a spear. Post-match, Cesaro attacked Christian and beat him around the ring. 3) Randy Orton defeated Jack Swagger in another quick match. Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins walk in on Booker T and Teddy Long in the back. Booker says that they aren't competing tonight because only the best performers wrestle on Friday nights. Reks attempts to plead his case but they get ignored. 4) Jinder Mahal defeated two local indie wrestlers in what is usually Ryback's segment. Speaking of which, Ryback came out after the win and chased Mahal off before he gave the Shellshock to the two local wrestlers. Ryback was said to be more over than he has been in recent weeks. Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel returns with Vickie Guerrero. Jericho shows footage of Ziggler losing to Alex Riley and Vickie challenges him to a SummerSlam match. Jericho says he's bringing Y2J back and accepts the SummerSlam match. Ziggler ran through the crowd, rushed to the ring and laid Jericho out with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Ziggler stood over Jericho before leaving. Booker T in a backstage segment with Eve Torres. The GM once again refuses to give Torres a job but Kaitlyn comes in and gets the job... but then then Booker decides to book Eve vs Kaitlyn next week with the winner getting the job of his assistant. 5) The Prime Time Players defeated Primo & Epico by DQ in a #1 contenders match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Champs Kofi Kingston & R-Truth interfered from commentary after AW threa a drink on them. Primo and Epico argued with Kingston & Truth after the match. Wade Barrett's return promo airs. 6) Rey Mysterio defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz in a non-title match. The Miz was complaining in the ring until Triple H came out and gave him a pedigree in an off-camera segment. Daniel Bryan is backstage walking around yelling "NO". He comes out to the ring and calls out AJ Lee but Kane comes out instead. After a while, AJ does come out and it ends with Kane knocking Byran out. They brawled until Kane chased Bryan through the crowd. 7) Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio for the World Title never really happens when Sheamus fights the cops away (who presumably were just guys in fake uniforms working for Del Rio) but they get the best of him. Del Rio joins in and helps beat Sheamus down, working on his arm and applying the cross armbreaker. Trainers came out to help Sheamus as the show ended.
