WWE Star MISSING From Last Night's Raw Tapings

This want-away WWE wrestler wasn't backstage at Raw on Monday...

Andrade was not backstage at yesterday's WWE Raw tapings, reports PWInsider's Mike Johnson.

The former United States and NXT Champion is currently attempting to engineer his exit from the promotion. 12 March brought news that Andrade had requested his release after removing all mentions of WWE from his social media accounts, with the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer confirming later in the day that the request had been denied.

This is common practice for WWE, who typically hold onto any want-away wrestler they deem could be a potential asset to a rival company. PAC, Brodie Lee, FTR, and countless others have felt the brunt of this, with WWE refusing to let them go until months after requesting their release.

Per PWInsider, Andrade was present at last week's Raw show but looked "absolutely miserable" backstage.

The 31-year-old last wrestled for WWE in October 2020. He went unselected in that month's WWE Draft, following the dissolution of his long-term partnership with Zelina Vega (and their stable with Angel Garza), and soon took time off to undergo minor surgery. Andrade is yet to return to television following this procedure.
