It wasn't Brock Lesnar who was the main event's special guest referee at Stomping Grounds, it was another powerhouse.

'Sassy Southern Belle' Lacey Evans got the nod, and she would've helped Baron Corbin become Universal Champion had it not been for those pesky lovebirds Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. That was the story WWE wanted to tell on Sunday, and there were more than a few other hidden gems snuck away in there to keep us interested. A few ass slaps too, which we'll get to in good time.

Stomping Grounds, one of the most skippable pay-per-views on the calendar going in, ended up being a solid card. It's not going to win any awards, and WWE could do with shaving some time off these things, but there wasn't a bad match on the show. A few that went too long, yes, but they weren't awful.
