WWE Stomping Grounds: 8 Things We Learned
4. Fans Aren't Always Right
Before anyone gets all angry and starts trying to put yours truly in a painful submission hold, relax. Nobody is saying that fans are always wrong, but it's true that they're not always right. Sometimes, a portion of the fan base appear to exist only so they can troll WWE and act like tipsy jocks at a high school function.
How else would you explain those senseless, "You Can't Wrestle" chants aimed at Lacey Evans on Sunday?
It's at times like this we're all entitled to ask exactly what these people want. Lacey is an ex-NXT star who's being treated seriously (something people have been crying out for), she's solid in-ring and on the microphone, and she's over. What more is needed, and why try to sabotage this push by chanting things that aren't even true?
Sorry, Tacoma, but you were wrong on this occasion. Evans has genuine potential. She's athletic, charismatic and obviously busting her ass to improve. This smart-assed culture can be fun, albeit not when it attempts to tear down newcomers who haven't done anything wrong.
