WWE Stomping Grounds: 8 Things We Learned

2. Brock Lesnar Wasn't There

If anyone in the business of captioning was plastering text over the photo above, they'd put a little speech bubble and the words, "He's on the beach!" next to Lacey Evans' mouth. We guarantee you that few, if any, had Evans down as the special guest ref for Seth Rollins vs. Baron Corbin before the announcement was made and she strolled out.

Brock Lesnar was the go-to choice. Too bad he's on his summer holidays, has that boombox MITB briefcase cranked up to 11 and wasn't booked to be there.

As the Universal Title match got underway, a few fans on social media murmured that Brock would surely pick his spot to attempt another cash in on Seth. That didn't happen, and neither did any sort of tease that it might. Hell, Paul Heyman didn't even come out and point at the entranceway like a portly, well-spoken Scott Hall.

Nope, Lesnar wasn't around, and he probs won't be until SummerSlam time. Extreme Rules, the next page in the pay-per-view book, will likely come and go without much incident. Then, suddenly, Brocky boy will be back in the mix.
