WWE SummerSlam: 12 Predictions You Can Take To The Bank

12. The Rock Returns...And So Does Stone Cold

Originally sparked by comments from Roman Reigns, the rumour mill is now going into overdrive about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson potentially making a surprise appearance at SummerSlam. With Jon Stewart hosting the show and Arrow star Stephen Amell taking part in a match, the event is pretty well stacked when it comes to celebrities, but The Great One showing up would take things to another level. There are those who believe he'll arrive to provide his cousin Roman Reigns with some back up and others who foresee The Rock inserting himself into the main event in order to set up that long rumoured rematch with Brock Lesnar (that would be somewhat appropriate too seeing as it was at SummerSlam 2002 that Lesnar beat The Rock for the WWE Undisputed Championship and "sent" him to Hollywood). I, however, think that if The Rock does show up, it will probably go in one of two directions. He'll either come out to join host Jon Stewart in a moment which is sure to make headlines and get the WWE some mainstream media attention the next day, or his feud with Triple H will be furthered in some way, setting up a match at next year's WrestleMania (which may or may not also involve Ronda Rousey and Stephanie McMahon). How does Stone Cold Steve Austin factor into things? Well, with him apparently in town to promote WWE 2K16, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to see him join The Rock and Stewart in the ring in a scene reminiscent of WrestleMania XXX. Minus Hulk Hogan of course!
