Then: Kaitlyn was someone who survived the original NXT (that crummy sort of is/sort of isn't reality show format) to land on the main roster. WWE had extremely high hopes for her as a top babyface in the women's division, and SummerSlam was supposed to be that next step.

Now: Less than one year after SummerSlam 2013, Kaitlyn had quit wrestling and decided to focus on business ventures outside the industry. She came out of retirement on the indy scene in 2018, then made cameo showings on WWE TV a few times.

Another stab at a full-time run is in her rearview mirror now.
