The New Day's reign as WWE Tag-Team Champions has been running since SummerSlam 2015. On that pay-per-view, the now-popular babyfaces (then heels) beat The Prime Time Players, The Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores to grab the belts. Since then, the trio have been one of the best acts on WWE television by far.

It's clear that WWE will need to think about taking the titles away from the group at some point, and that time may come at this year's SummerSlam. Just two days shy of a full year on top, New Day could fall to Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. If so, it'd provide SummerSlam with a truly shocking moment.

Out injured, Big E would then have the motivation to cause a rift in the ranks upon his return. It's a credit to The New Day that so many fans hate the idea of them splitting once they do lose the titles, but it's bound to happen at some point in the future.

SummerSlam might not be the breakup of New Day, but it may be the end of their lengthy title stint.
