WWE SummerSlam 2017: 8 Things WWE Got Right

Thank God for that Fatal-4-Way...

Jinder Mahal Shinsuke Nakamura

What has happened to Shinsuke Nakamura? Rewind to Money In The Bank and WWE got us all excited for a blistering Nakamura vs. AJ Styles series, but that hasn't happened. Instead, the ex-NJPW wonder was placed in a WWE Title match against a poor champion (by historical standards) before he was ready.

There's no way Shinsuke's match against Jinder Mahal was going to succeed. WWE dropped the ball there, because it was a match with tepid build that didn't deliver inside the ring and deflated the crowd with its outcome. Way to go, creative team, you've officially ruined Nakamura's main event magic before he's even got started.

SummerSlam 2017 wasn't WWE's best by a long shot, but outside of the duff WWE Title match there were positives. That aforementioned creative squad redeemed things a little with the main event and busied themselves setting up a few tasty feuds.

It's worth saying again: thank God for that Fatal-4-Way...
