WWE SummerSlam 2017: Best Booking Scenarios For Each Match
3. Bálor Beats Wyatt (With No Supernatural Shenanigans)
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
One year ago, Finn Bálor defeated Seth Rollins to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion. It was a fantastic match effectively ruined by one of the worst crowds in recent memory.
Now, he's getting strawberry jam dumped on him by a man that tried to use projections to win a match at WrestleMania.
This is basically a question of who needs the win more, and, surprisingly, the answer is not Bray Wyatt. At Great Balls of Fire, 'The Eater of Worlds' beat Seth Rollins, while Bálor wasn't even on the show. At Extreme Rules, Bálor was ultimately the person that submitted in order to give Samoa Joe the win.
This Sunday promises the return of Finn's demon persona. The combination of the two's mystical gimmicks brings with it a potential for random occurrences, such as being hypnotized by Wyatt's crab walk, smoke appearing in the ring, or the return of those projected images.
Please. No.
Just let the two fight it out. This match was already given away for free on Raw, with Bray picking up the win. As much as 50/50 booking doesn't benefit anyone, Bálor is in a must-win situation right now. If being locked in a pointless feud with Elias Samson wasn't enough to drop Finn's standings, then a loss here definitely would.
