WWE SummerSlam 2018: Huge Changes To Title Match Planned
Plans for championship bout to be mixed up?
Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler are currently scheduled to conclude hostilities over the Intercontinental title at SummeSlam come 19 August - though it seems those plans are about to be overturned.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE are mulling over the possibility of spicing the proposed contest up a bit with the addition of several extra challengers to the mix:
Current champ Ziggler and Rollins collided at last month's Extreme Rules in a 30-minute Iron Man match, which saw the incumbent prevail after a very brief bout of overtime. It's pretty unusual to follow up a PPV-headlining stipulation match with a regular singles tie, making a potential change perfectly logical (though that word tends not to apply to WWE's booking methods).
There are at present no specific rumours about who could populate a multi-person IC title tussle in Brooklyn, though as Ziggler's Diesel-in-chief, it's difficult to look beyond Drew McIntyre playing a significant role. Other than that, it's take your pick out a hat from any the company's numerous, rudderless mid-card acts heading into the show. Bobby, Jinder: it could just be your lucky day.
