WWE SummerSlam 2019: 10 Things That Must Happen
10. AJ Styles & Ricochet Open The Main Card
It doesn't matter whether WWE choose the Cruiserweights or SmackDown's women to pin down the pre-show, because there's only one match that makes sense to follow up and start SummerSlam's pay-per-view portion with a bang. It's a match that has potential show stealer written all over it, and it'd be another happy love note to wrestling fans everywhere.
Styles vs. Ricochet IV.
After meeting on Raw in June and July, the pair had an awesome match at Extreme Rules. They've wrestled on house shows since, but most fans didn't see that so it wouldn't be hard for WWE to count up the televised scores and reveal that AJ has a 3-1 lead over his United States Title rival.
Even if they don't want to talk turkey on Styles having the edge there, WWE could discuss the rest of The O.C, the numbers advantage they hold and the impact Gallows and Anderson might have here. Given 15 minutes and free-reign to do whatever they please, AJ and Ricochet would mimic hot openers like Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle from SummerSlam 2002.
