7. GUNTHER Retains

Originally, this guy had Drew McIntyre romping to victory and becoming the latest Intercontinental Champion wrestling fans can be proud of. Then, he re-checked the stat sheets to find out that GUNTHER is now just a hop, skip and a jump away from overtaking Honky Tonk Man as the longest-reigning IC Champ ever.

It'd be rude not to.

GUNTHER's run has been awesome, and he fully deserves to supplant the Elvis tribute act of yesteryear as a standalone Intercontinental great. McIntyre tasting any kind of defeat this soon after returning to action sucks, sure, but it's unavoidable if WWE fancies elevating Imperium's ladder to dizzying heights.

Both men are fabulous workers, so they'll find a way to make Drew look good even on the losing end. A bruising, physical battle that sees McIntyre's nipples fly off into the front few rows due to GUNTHER's chops should do the trick. Maybe Drew could even kick out of a finish or two as well to keep him strong.
