3. Four Hours Might Be Too Long
WWE shows always tend to go a little quicker when you're there, but SummerSlam definitely dragged in places and suffered from having some Raw/SmackDown level matches on the card. Kicking things off with yet another Orton/Sheamus match wasn't the smartest move, while the Intercontinental Championship match received a very muted response compared to every other match. The Miz was oddly enough a favourite with the crowd, with his multiple pinfall attempts going down very well. Dolph Zigger and Rusev didn't cause much of a stir either, and the only time anyone seem interested was when Lana and Summer Rae started going at it (it seems that's the match everyone really wants to see). The point is, there was a little too much in the way of filler, and that hurt the show's final hour or so. Cena/Rollins seemed to wear everyone out, meaning the Divas bout and Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens didn't receive anywhere near the kind of attention they deserved. Owens at least got a hero's welcome, though Cesaro had plenty of supporters too. Interestingly, it appears as if the main reason those "Cesaro Section" signs are being handed out is because fans hope that they'll get on TV. I gladly took one of the fifty the guy sitting behind me had printed out, and well, it worked too! It's a shame that that's the reasoning behind it more than fully genuine support though.
