Bryan Losing Could Allow Cena To Go Heel
Cena go heel? Itll never happen I hear you cry. T-shirts and wrist band sales would plummet leading to the closure of the WWE. But why shouldnt he turn heel? Cena is already a heel in the eyes of half the crowd, and its very possible that everyone who currently boos the hell out of him would start cheering him if he showed a bit more of the attitude he had last time he was a heel. And if that happened everyone who is currently buying Cena merch would stop whilst those who dont would start buying it. The balance would be restored and the John Cena character which is perhaps the most stale character currently in the WWE would be refreshed. The only reason the WWE wont turn Cena heel is because of the risk that the above scenario doesnt come about. A failed Cena heel turn would lose them their money maker which is why the business section of Vinces brain wont allow it. But then again Cena wont be around forever and the time will come when the WWE need to replace Cena with another top guy for the company. Finding the top guy isnt easy and guys like Randy Orton, Dave Batista, and others over the years may have been world champions, but have lacked that mainstream connection with the casual fan to really be anything more than a top guy in the eyes of the hardcore fan. Daniel Bryan could change all that. Not wanting to repeat myself too much in one article, but the best circumstances to get Bryan over more would be for him to lose this match. Bryan has already been World Heavyweight Champion, but since the WWE Championship is so clearly the real main championship, Bryans pursuit of it can echo the boyhood dream story of his trainer Shawn Michaels pursuit of the same belt. Only if he finally overcomes great odds and fulfilled his destiny to be champion will Daniel Bryan be able to truly reach new heights of stardom. But that stardom and popularity will be limited if he is sat in a John Cena shaped shadow. Although no one would have thought it in the moment, Bryans eighteen second loss to Sheamus at Wreslemania XXVIII probably made Bryans career as it currently stands. The way the audience showed their support for Bryan by chanting his name and his Yes chant is what really opened the door for him to be more than just the technical wrestler. This chant became huge overnight and was compared to Steve Austins infamous What? chant which has had a longer lasting and greater impact on televised wrestling than any other catchphrase. It takes a very special wrestler to carry something as huge as a chant which breaks the confines of the biz and becomes a mainstream meme. If Daniel Bryan was to ever get into politics his policies may have little relevance as his Yes and No chants could be powerful enough to brainwash any crowd. The most effective way to set up Bryan as the future top face of the company is to self inflict killing Cena as the current top face. By turning the already much hated Cena heel the audience would be so hot to cheer Bryan he would have the potential to get audience reactions up there with the best ever seen. And as mentioned earlier a heel Cena would probably help him go full circle and rejuvenate his popularity with the section of the crowds who currently cant stand Cena in a similar way to how the nWo storyline brought Hulk Hogan back to the top in WCW in the nineties. Then with Daniel Bryan as the top face in the company Cena now as a heel would have a greater variety of matches and feuds than the same old recycled routines weve had for years. Everyone's a winner, but for everyone to win in this way, first things first, and that is that Bryan has to lose.
