1. Women Might Actually Wrestle

Oh my god imagine that, a women’s wrestling match!

Ok so story here is that WWE are pushing to have Alexa Bliss and Natalya on the card. Now despite any cynicism I pour on this, it would be a genuinely groundbreaking event for a country that strictly, strictly doesn’t allow this sort of thing and, hey, if they pull it off, well done WWE.

Now quite why they’re pushing for this is open to interpretation. They claim they’re part of modernising the country and this would definitely quialify, but this whole thing’s a PR disaster for them still and getting one women’s match on a show does mean they can keep pointing at it and saying “hey look we’re trying”.

Would Alexa Bliss beating Natalya in 4-6 minutes change anything for the 10 million women living in that country. Would it help them move towards equality, I’m skeptical but it might. Even if a good thing is small and fleeting it is still a good thing.

Then again they could just be letting this story out to make it look like they’re trying, who knows.
