WWE Superstar Shake-Up 2019: Every Wrestler Who Moved To SmackDown
The Big Dog and Finn Balor jump ship to Tuesday nights.
SmackDown Live absolutely slayed the 2019 Superstar Shake-Up.
Sure, the blue brand lost AJ Styles and The Miz to Raw, and the tag division looks a lot emptier with The Usos jumping ship, but it's hard to complain about the replacements. The brand's star power deficiency was addressed, the midcard was restocked, a solid enhancement talent core was established, and the women's scene is now as stacked as it has ever been. WWE's most consistent weekly TV show just got even more exciting.
Vince McMahon promised "the biggest acquisition in SmackDown Live" history on last night's show, and delivered after a brief swerve. Elsewhere, Paige came through with her new women's' tag team (which wasn't quite what we'd been conditioned to expect), and a couple of Raw partnerships were quietly broken up.
The follow-up is critical, as is always the case with this company, and Road Dogg's departure from the blue brand's writing team raises a number of long-term concerns about these wrestlers and their future. But for now, SmackDown looks stronger than ever. They destroyed Raw in this year's Superstar Shake-Up, and their position should keep strengthening throughout the year, with October's Fox jump making SD the de facto A-show...
