WWE Survivor Series 2002: 5 Awesome Things And 5 That Sucked

1. There Was No Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match

Survivor Series should have at least one traditional Survivor Series elimination match on the show. Whether it's 5-on-5 or 4-on-4, it's something that needs to happen. In 2002 as well as some other years, there were no traditional elimination matches. What WWE did instead was have three different matches where eliminations took place. The opener was a six man tag with eliminations, which was silly because after guys were eliminated they still remained a part of the match. Then there was the tag team elimination match with three teams. The main event was the first match of its kind, the Elimination Chamber, so they had five eliminations in that match. Plus, they could have done the logical thing and had a Raw vs. Smackdown match since this was the first year of the brand extension. It would have been a big deal to see different guys mixing it up like that. Instead, it came off just like a regular type of PPV. Why complicate things? Fans are used to Survivor Series since it started in 1987 and we want to see elimination tag matches every time we see a Survivor Series show. That's just the way it should be. ---- What PPV do you want to see featured next? Let us know in the comments below.
