WWE Survivor Series 2016: 10 Things We Learned
6. The Cruiserweight Division Will Stay On Raw
In the lead up to Survivor Series, a huge question was hanging over the future of WWE's new Cruiserweight division. If Brian Kendrick were to lose his match against Kalisto on the show, the entire division (wrestlers and all) would be moved across to SmackDown Live. In the end, that didn't happen.
Almost a cop out, at least the disqualification finish to Kendrick vs. Kalisto did make sense from a storyline point of view. Baron Corbin interfered and nailed Kendrick from behind with a stiff strike. Left with no choice, the referee called for the bell and waved off the match.
Then, Corbin set his sights on Kalisto. Later backstage, he refused to apologise when confronted by SmackDown's General Manager Daniel Bryan. It looks for all the world like Baron's problems with Kalisto will continue on Tuesday nights for the next few weeks.
Further, the Cruiserweight division will stay put on Monday Night Raw in the interim. That must be considered a plus point, there was genuinely no need for WWE to shift the goalposts at such an early stage anyway.
