WWE Talent Refuse Trademark Consent

Which WWE stars refused to give written consent for the trademarking of their names?

Multiple trademark filings made by WWE have been rejected largely due to the stars performing under the names not providing written consent, according to documents obtained by Heelbynature.com.

These numerous filings, all submitted by WWE last October, have not been accepted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a number of reasons. However, the most intriguing is the lack of consent in written form given by the talents associated to the names mentioned.

The documentation, which was issued in mid-February, highlights that each of these trademarks will be abandoned in the next six months if WWE can't find a way to get their hands on their talent's signatures of approval.

WWE have faced similar issues in the past when it comes to trademarking the stars under their banner. Notably the likes of Keith Lee, Mia Yim and Mercedes Martinez all decided to register their names outside of the company after WWE's attempts to take ownership of their wrestling titles.

Will the names above follow a similar route, or will the company be able to secure those all important signatures? Only time will tell...
