Following Samoa Joe’s recent return to the WWE fold - the Samoan Submission Machine turning up on this week's NXT as an enforcer of sorts for William Regal - there continues to be talk that the recently released Aleister Black is another who WWE could look to bring back to the company.

As per Mike Johnson over at PWInsider, there are still ongoing talks amongst top WWE officials that the decision to axe the Dutch Destroyer earlier this month was made prematurely.

That was seemingly the case as soon as Black was released, with these discussions having presumably only intensified once reports came out about how AEW is believed to be extremely keen on making Tommy, Tommy, Tommy F**king End #All Elite.

After six months of having him sat at home, WWE finally brought the one-time NXT Champion back to TV with the first of his swanky Dark Father vignettes at the end of April. While those beautifully produced packages impressed audiences, it was on the 21 May episode of SmackDown that Black finally turned up in the flesh – laying out Big E and seemingly setting a hotly anticipated rivalry in motion.

Of course, Aleister Black would be released less than two weeks after that SmackDown return.
