WWE Teasing THIS Epic Clash At The Castle Main Event
Is this going to be WWE's main event come September's Clash At The Castle?
It looks like Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns will be WWE's main event for the UK-based Clash At The Castle stadium show this September after all.
On Friday's SmackDown, Drew laid out his intentions to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title - then, McIntyre teamed up with New Day pals Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in a six-man loss to Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch.
That mini-feud has become Drew's latest distraction. Previously, he was programmed in another short rivalry opposite Sami Zayn, and there's a general feeling that the big Scot could be doing a lot more on the brand.
WWE must be keeping their powder dry on McIntyre before pushing him to the moon again later this year. He'll certainly be cast as an unstoppable babyface before colliding with Roman in Cardiff, Wales on 3 September.
Count on it.
Both Drew and Roman feature on the Clash pay-per-view poster, so them headlining against one another makes perfect sense. It also looks like Reigns is destined to work a series of one-off challenge matches over the summer before likely dropping his belt to McIntyre in the UK.
