http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsvUNQyWFhw In the late 1980s to early 1990s both Midnight Rockers, Marty Janetty and Shawn Michaels, introduced a dynamic, fast paced and high flying form of professional wrestling to the WWE. Together Janetty and Michaels utilised their charisma and their subsequent popularity to become a prominent draw in an era still dominated by powerhouse Hulk Hogan style wrestlers. Yet by 1991 it was clear that the concept of The Midnight Rockers had run its course. Fans and fellow wrestlers speculated that a break up was imminent. To many it was clear that Shawn Michaels had shown himself as the standout star of the team, with some suggesting that he ought to go it alone as a singles competitor. Michaels answer would come in a 1992 edition of 'The Barbershop', where Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake pressed Michaels and Janetty on the question of whether they would remain as The Midnight Rockers or, as many rumoured, go their separate ways. At first it seemed as if Michaels was prepared to give the Tag Team another shot by shaking Janetty's hand and embracing him with a hug. Yet a few seconds later Michaels would shock the WWE by hitting Janetty in the face with the Rockers own signature move, The Super Kick. As Janetty stumbles about, Michaels then grabs his former tag partners head and smashes it through a pane of glass! This kick, which Michaels would later name Sweet Chin Music, is memorable for two particular reasons. Primarily it symbolised the introduction of Shawn Michaels as the cocky singles competitor who would go on to become a WWE Hall of Famer but also, and perhaps most memorable, is that it introduced the 'Shock' factor to WWE fans. It is hard to think of a scene prior to this moment that had the effect of leaving fans open mouthed and physically shaken. Little did they know that this was a sign of things to come...
