The Undertaker vs Big Daddy Cool Diesel - WRESTLEMANIA XII
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsevG71Cs_4 Diesel (Kevin Nash) may have been the first anti-hero in WWE, long before Stone Cold Steve Austin arrived on the scene. You see he'd gone off the deep end after losing his WWF Championship to Bret Hart in 1995 but had maintained most of his fan base as well as his long standing friendship with The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels who was a top babyface at that time. By the time the 1996 Royal Rumble rolled around The Undertaker was fighting Bret Hart and looked sure of capturing the top title of the day. As he covered Bret for the 1-2-3 Diesel appeared and pulled the referee to the outside costing the Dead Man the match and the belt. And so another big man feud was born but this time the opponent was actually a half decent wrestler with a long history of entertaining matches so expectations were higher than usual. The match itself was no classic but it brought Undertaker back to relevance at Wrestlemania. This was also the first time I personally found myself hoping 'Taker would lose. Of course in those days there was no Streak to speak of but if there had Diesel would have come damn close to ending it. However in true Undertaker fashion he survived the dreaded Jackknife Powerbomb and scored a decisive 3 count over Big Daddy Cool. This was the first time Undertaker ever wrestled a match at Wrestlemania that stretched over 10 minutes and was Diesel's last hurrah at the event before going to WCW and forming the New World Order. Score: 6/10
