WWE Title Match Official For WrestleMania 39 Night 2
Cody Rhodes confirms on Raw world title match will close out Sunday's show.
Ever since WWE started holding WrestleMania during a two-night period, the company has played the actual cards for each night close to the vest until shortly before the PLE actually airs, leaving which night matches take place up for speculation.
But on Raw Monday night, Cody Rhodes confirmed what many assumed to be the case for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns: The two will close out WrestleMania 39 on Sunday, 2 April, the second night of the big show.
During an impassioned, fiery in-ring promo, the American Nightmare repeatedly referenced "April 2nd" as the date he pins Roman and becomes the first Rhodes to win the WWE Championship.
It's all ADRENALINE for @CodyRhodes on the Road to #WrestleMania!

Truthfully, this never really was in doubt. Reigns/Rhodes is by far the biggest match on the card(s) and the only one that could close out the show. But this was an emphatic confirmation of what will main event Sunday's show.
What main-events Saturday night's show is still up for grabs, whether it's a women's title match or the expected Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match. Given how cold the Raw women's title feud is and how underwhelming Charlotte Flair's run as SmackDown Women's Champion has been, it's easily conceivable that the Bloodline story gets both main event slots.
