WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (April 13)
6. A Rough First Chapter
Well, AJ Lee's historic Divas title reign has come to an end. Who would have ever guessed that we'd see Marye's 216 day reign bested in this lifetime? Not me! Anyway, Paige debuted on Raw and quickly won the title. In theory that sounds cool. In execution, it was a little lacking. First of all, Paige came down to the ring and cut an awkward promo on how she just wanted to congratulate AJ. It came off a big heelish. There was no "I wanted to congratulate you...on your last few days of holding the title before I take it!" You know, something along those lines. She actually seemed genuine. The second problem was that when AJ challenged her, Paige didn't jump at the chance. She should have accepted right away. Instead, she told her she wasn't ready...despite the fact that she was wearing her wrestling gear. Maybe that's just what she wears in her free time? In that case, that just seems uncomfortable. Lastly, Paige botched her finisher on AJ. If Paige does end up being a huge Divas star in the years to come, that video footage probably won't be used as a highlight in future video packages. It just looked awkward. It was clear that AJ did most of the work and threw herself to the ground. While it's great to see Paige on the main roster, it just wasn't quite the beginning that most had envisioned.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
