WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (July 13)

7. Santino Retires

WWE.comWWE.comNow that Santino has potentially retired from in-ring competition, this has made the Worst of the Week article 14% more difficult to write as he usually took 1 of the 7 slides. Ahhhh, I kid, I kid...sort of. Well to be serious for a moment, it is a bummer to see anyone not be able to perform in their dream profession anymore. While I never really liked the Santino character (except for the time he called Snoop Dogg €œSnoopy the Dog€) you can€™t help but feel sorry for the man Anthony Carelli. At only 35 years old, Santino may be done in a WWE ring. That€™s younger than Edge and Steve Austin were forced to call it quits due to neck injuries. It just goes to show that you never know what can happen in a wrestler€™s career. After all, Santino wasn€™t known for ladder or hardcore matches (though he was the master of the inferno match), or even matches that lasted longer than a couple of minutes. He was a comedy figure that had a limited moveset and hit people in the throat with a sock. Sure, his humor isn€™t for everyone, but he played the role well and had one of the longest careers for a comedy figure in WWE history. Well done Mr. Milan Miracle. In his honor, tonight I will wear a sock on my hand and talk to it in public.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
