WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (June 1)

7. The Intercontinental Chump

I can€™t believe WWE held out on not having their Intercontinental Champ job in a non-title match for an entire three weeks! That€™s got to be some kind of modern day record! What took them so long? On SmackDown, we had Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett losing cleanly to US Champion Sheamus with absolutely zero build before the show. They just threw it out there without any storyline reason to justify the match. It was an odd thing to do as Barrett actually seems to be over, while Sheamus seems to be Sheamus, which is never a good thing. It€™s just frustrating to watch this never-ending mistreatment of the title. Before Barrett had the Intercontinental Title, Big E was losing non-title matches, Curtis Axel did the same before him, and Wade Barrett was doing it before that! It never goes anywhere. Where is Scott Hall when you need him to throw another title in the dumpster like he did with the WCW TV Title? Maybe Jim Duggan can pull it out of the trash again, and this time defend it on Legend€™s House. Watching him fight Gene Okerlund in a 60 minute iron man match, where they'd have to stop every other minute to catch their breath, would still be less sad than watching what the belt has devolved into now.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
