WWE To Pull HUGE Swerve Ahead Of WrestleMania 39?
Latest on WWE's plans for Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, Bray Wyatt, and more.
While talk of a huge WrestleMania 39 misdirect has swirled since Omos challenge Brock Lesnar to a 'Show of Shows' match on this week's episode of Raw, current plans call for that exact match to take place.
Dave Meltzer reported as much on Wrestling Observer Radio. He stated that WWE is now going with Bobby Lashley vs. Bray Wyatt at 'Mania 39, with Lesnar vs. Omos the other piece of that puzzle.
The four wrestlers became tied together on last week's SmackDown, on which Wyatt challenged the winner of Lesnar and Lashley's Elimination Chamber 2023 bout to a future match. Bobby ended up winning that bout, albeit not the way he would've wanted, with a disqualification triggered when Lesnar low-blowed Lashley while seemingly on the verge of submitting to the Hurt Lock.
Omos then laid down a WrestleMania challenge to Lesnar on this week's Raw. Lashley, another Raw wrestler, is yet to confront SmackDown's Wyatt.
That the Lashley/Lesnar rivalry's latest chapter ended on such an indecisive note led to speculation that WWE was misdirecting its audience with Bray and Omos' involvement. While this may yet transpire (plans change, pal), Lesnar/Omos and Lashley/Wyatt, at least for now, appear to be on deck.
